Veteran Inspirational Speaker Visits HaKY Plant
Harrodsburg,KY- In celebration of Veterans Day, the Corning Harrodsburg team recently hosted veteran inspirational speaker Corporal Matthew R. Bradford, United States Marine Corps (Retired) to share his story and resilient motto of, “No Legs, No Vision, No Problem.”
Bradford lost both of this legs and vision after stepping on an IED in Iraq in 2007. Now his mission is to serve others by sharing his encouraging message of staying positive, no matter what the challenge. Matthew’s fundamental teachings include: leading by example, never quitting, learning to adapt and overcome, having a positive attitude and living beyond the bare minimum.
The Harrodsburg plant is known for being a large supporter of the U.S. military and is always looking for ways to give back to the veteran community.
“Matthew’s message resonated with everyone in the room and goes to show that a resilient and determined person can achieve anything they put their mind to,” said Justin Stuebgen, plant human resources manager. “Many of us can use this message every day to ensure we keep moving forward and stay optimistic when working on challenging assignments or difficult situations. We all thank Matthew and all the other veterans for their inspiring stories, bravery, and sacrifice.”
Bradford’s message hit home for many employees and had a lasting affect from both a professional and personal level.
“Veterans Day is such a special holiday. Matthew’s message made it even more special,” said John Antonelli, plant manager. “For me, personally, I couldn’t stop thinking about how my supposed big problems pale in comparison to what he’s faced. His perseverance, determination, and never quit approach inspired me and, as evidenced by the multiple standing ovations, I’m sure everyone in attendance.”
